About Plaza Theatre

Live performing arts events, concerts, plays, touring shows, lectures, and movies.
The Plaza Theatre was built in 1930 as a movie house and remained opened until the 1970s.  It was then rented to various groups until finally closing in the 1990s.
The Plaza was purchased by the city of Glasgow in September 2001 and renovated.  Today the Plaza Theatre hosts a variety of special events and is also available for rentals.
The Plaza Advisory Board is a group of seven individuals appointed by the Mayor plus the Plaza Director.  The Plaza Theatre is a department within the City of Glasgow city government organizational structure and is responsible directly to the Mayor.
