Historically and architecturally significant, the house was purchased by Ervin G. Houchens in 1957 to house the Girl's Club. Today it is used as a meeting place for many groups and as a cultural and educational center.

Greek Revival mansion was built in 1904 by Francis Kister, onetime Mayor of Bowling Green and co-builder of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
