Cage The Elephant: Social Cues

Social Cues, the 5th studio album by Cage The Elephant is now available for streaming and purchase.  The followup to their Grammy award winning Tell Me I'm Pretty, Social Cues reportedly blossomed from the confrontation of personal struggles such as divorce and loss of friends to suicide.

In March, "Ready to Let Go" became Cage's song with the quickest rise to number 1 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, holding the position for 6 of the 11 weeks it remained on the chart. The group now boasts the most #1 songs on the Alternative Song chart in the 2010s. It is the 8th of their songs to top this chart, tying them for 5th most #1 songs in the chart's history with U2 and REM, bested only by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Linkin Park and Foo Fighters.

"Ready to Let Go" also topped the Rock Airplay chart on Billboard, placing them as tied with Green Day and Imagine Dragons for the second most #1s on the chart. Foo Fighters holds the top honor with 6 #1 songs.

Cage The Elephant will by co-headlining a tour this summer with Beck dubbed the Night Running Tour.  Also featured in some locations will be special guests Spoon as well as Starcrawler, Wild Belle & Sunflower Bean. The tour is named for a track on the album which was co-written with Beck and on which he performs.

The groups is already busy showcasing the new songs to their fans. They kicked off the Stanley Cup earlier this month with a free concert.  And, last night they appeared on Stephen Colbert.
