Forecastle Festival Cyber Monday pre-sale, Nominated for “National Music Festival of the Year”

Forecastle Festival, proud to celebrate its nomination for the "Music Festival of the Year" award from Pollstar, a concert industry trade publication, announced  its 2020 festival dates. Forecastle Music, Arts and Activism festival is offering festival-goers special holiday pre-sale tickets on Cyber Monday. Holiday pre-sale kicks off Cyber Monday, December 2 at 9 AM CST featuring specially priced three-day tickets. Tickets can be secured with a $30 downpayment.

Forecastle, embarking on its 18th year-- the 10th festival at Waterfront Park, an 85 acres of green space adjacent to the downtown area of Louisville and The Ohio River- is proud to celebrate its nomination as for a national Music Festival of the Year award and it announced its 2020 festival dates, offering festival-goers special holiday pre-sale tickets on Cyber Monday.

Nominated as Pollstar's Music Festival of the Year for 2019, a Forecastle experience presents Louisville’s rich culture through equal parts music, art, and activism. Along with a first-class musical lineup, the event showcases the city’s thriving culinary and arts scene, Kentucky’s unique Bourbon heritage and local and globally known Kentucky artists and more. Introducing fans to sets with cultural value unseen in the bluegrass, helped it make the “coolest festivals in America” list by Rolling Stone.

This along with sustainability and conservation initiatives added to it. Waterfront Park is now an internationally-acclaimed gathering space that hosts over 2.2 million visitors and 150 events each year instead of the once blighted wasteland of scrap yards and heavy industrial uses. As fans purchase their 2020 tickets for the July event, they are playing an important role in protecting Waterfront Park for many years to come.

Criteria for the award include: festivals must be in U.S. and have the attendance under 30,0000, according to Pollstar, a concert industry trade publication, which recognizes the “most artistically and commercially successful festival of the year” that provides “the most rewarding experience for fans and artists,” according to a news release from Louisville Tourism. Bourbon & Beyond, held in September from Danny Wimmer Presents, is nominated too, making Louisville the only city in the nation to have two music festivals nominated.

“We take an immense amount of pride producing this amazing event, showcasing the picturesque Waterfront Park and celebrating all of the history, culture, and quirks that make Louisville a magical destination,” Jeff Cuellar said. The Vice President of the Strategic Partnerships for Forecastle producer AC Entertainment added, “Cheers to all of our fans from around the world and locally for all your support.”

AC Entertainment is internationally recognized as an innovative leader in creating, producing, booking and marketing first-class live entertainment experiences – from festivals and concerts to all types of special events. As producers of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Homecoming in association with MusicNOW, High Water Festival, Railbird Festival, Moon River Music Festival, and Big Ears Festival, and through the 1,000+ concerts they present nationally each year, AC takes special pride in those unforgettable, spine-tingling moments that everyone remembers long after the lights have come up.

The three-day festival draws thousands for its diverse national acts. In 2019, The Killers, the Avett Brothers, and Anderson .Paak & The Free nationals headlined, with Chvrches, Maggie Rogers, Chromeo, Portugal, The Man, Nelly, Big Freedia and much more. Fans in the bluegrass screamed for the debut of Queen of Bounce Big Freedia before, during and after a participant on-stage twerk session seen in her break-out national docu-style series about New Orleans bounce music on FUSE network. Her backstory  includes her varied work and the bumping bellow to Beyonce’s “Formation.”

Big Freedia took off with more work including “In My Feelings” from rapper Drake and was joined on stage with Kesha during this weekend’s American Music Awards to perform “Raising Hell.”

Forecastle fuels fans with unique opportunities to see artists of unfathomable yet deserved mainstream popularity. A couple include Lizzo, nine-time Grammy nominated artist for the 2020 Recording Academy Awards and Bowling Green’s Grammy winning alt-rock band Cage The Elephant--this time nominated for Best Alt/Rock album for April 2019 released, “Social Cues.”

The 2020 edition is scheduled July 12-14 and the Bourbon experience will expand. All Forecastle patrons will be able to interact with the full array of offerings with no additional membership fee or minimum commitment. The full lineup and details on the 2020 Forecastle experience will be shared in early 2020. All ticketing options, including layaway plans, can be found at
