The next Lost River Sessions LIVE! concert will begin at 7 p.m. March 26 at the Capitol Arts Center. Featured artists include Kentucky’s own old-time music, bluegrass groups The Local Honeys and The GasLight Boys. Theatre doors open at 6:30 p.m. and TICKETS are $12.50 general admission and $10.50 for students.
The Local Honeys hail from the foothills of the Appalachian region and have dedicated themselves to the preservation of old-time bluegrass and hillbilly music while exploring the formation of new songs in the old traditions. The all-female group is tearing down any misconceptions that the music genres of old-time and bluegrass are an extended boys club.
Opening the show is The GasLight Boys, a four-piece group out of western Kentucky.
Lost River Sessions LIVE! is presented by WKU Public Broadcasting, Mike Simpson, Farmers National Bank of Bowling Green and Scottsville, Bowling Green Convention and Visitors Bureau, Glasgow EPB, Warren County Public Library, and Katelyn and Zach Simpson. The monthly concert series takes place at the iconic Capitol Arts Center on Fountain Square in downtown Bowling Green.
