A fan’s son is slumped onto his shoulders, shaking his arms up and down to the beat in a crowd of thousands for a Great White set--absentmindedly becoming a new fan. A tug of war of hollers and claps follows from thousands of fans of three generations.

Since 1982, the Great White sound has captivated audiences worldwide with crushing blues-based guitar riffs and swagger that invokes an emotional high for anyone that listens. The California-based band is comprised of guitarist Mark Kendall, Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards), drummer Audie Desbrow, bassist Scott Snyder and vocalist Mitch Malloy.

“It’s a blast. We try to approach every show we do as that group of people that have seen in that instance,” Lardie said.

Great White has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, has six Top 100 Billboard hits, nine Top 200 Billboard albums, two platinum albums and clocked the top of MTV four times. With accolades like these, the band’s mantra: these songs are bigger than any one member.

“Like for example in Bowling Green, ya know, will be the first time this group of people have seen this band play those songs during that time,” Lardie added. “It’s like an encapsulated moment in time. All those elements that make the evening happen and you know that’s what keeps it fresh for us.”

In the last four years the group has logged nearly 400 dates across the United States and several countries, and with its third front-man the first time in its 36 year history, they’re not slowing down. Great White will log another set and this time at Vette City Motorcycle Music Fest on the main stage Saturday, September 14th, starting 7:50 PM with the bike/ trailer giveaway and Jackyl to follow.

The Vette City Motorcycle Music Fest is a three-day lineup featuring 24 bands, including Jackyl, Puddle of Mudd, Colt Ford, Kyle Daniel, Great White, Kiss Kiss Bang, Jasmine Cain, Geneva, Saving Able, Tantric, Saliva and so many more.

Great White’s core writing team of Lardie and Kendall forged numerous hits over the years with milestones to complete.

“My favorite things to see is a year old kid on his father or grandfather’s shoulders at a festival singing the verse lyrics to ‘Rock Me…’I’m like ‘how does this kid know this, ya know?’ It’s because mom or dad or grandpa passed it on down. And that is the greatest compliment to receive as an artist.”

Vette City Motorcycle Music Fest is an all-ages event, with other activities include custom bike show, biker games, burnout contest, kis zone, food and merchant vendors, beer garden Sound Warz competition, anticipated downhill Barbie car races and more.

The arsenal of hit songs to sing along to a Vette City Motorcycle Music Fest could include “Mista Bone,” “Save Your Love,” House of Broken Love,” and “Lady Red Light” and Grammy nominated Best Hard Rock Performance, “Once Bitten, Twice Shy.”

Vette City Motorcycle Music Fest events start September 12, with kick-off party at Harley Davidson-Bowling Green at 6 p.m. The main-stage event September 13-15 will be at Edge Hills Farms, 13101 Louisville Rd, Oakland, Ky.
