Barn Lot Theater has announced Kyle Hadley has been named Executive Director of the nonprofit performing arts theater. Barn Lot Theater, located in Edmonton in Metcalfe County, is currently in his 40th year of operation and services nearly a dozen counties located in Southcentral Kentucky. Hadley succeeds former executive director Shane Chambers who has been the Executive Director for the past 21 years. Chambers will be the new Director of Special Projects, managing Barn Lot’s new Auction Barn fundraiser.

Board president Larry Wilson says the entire board was surprised by Shane’s decision to step down but said “We feel her recommendation for Kyle was a supreme choice. Kyle will give the theater a freshness as executive director. The board feels he is very qualified and his fresh ideas will certainly enhance all the hard work and dedication Shane has put into Barn Lot Theater.”

“There is nothing in my life that I am more proud of, with the exception of my children than what I’ve accomplished here,” says Chambers, previous Executive Director of Barn Lot Theater. “We’ve grown beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, and I am so honored that I got to lead the theater on that path of growth and prosperity. But after 21 years, as retirement grows ever closer, it is time for me to take the back seat and let someone else lead the way, and Kyle Hadley is ready and prepared to take on the responsibilities of Executive Director “

“I am excited to see what the future has in store for Barn Lot Theater. I have really had the opportunity to see Barn Lot grow during the past eight years that I’ve been with the theater. “ says Hadley, “I am honored to be named Executive Director and am looking forward to seeing how I can help the theater continue to grow and develop as we enter our next 40 years and beyond.”

Hadley, who was previously involved with the Star Theater in Russell Springs has been employed with Barn Lot Theater since 2012. Originally hired as Assistant Technical Director, he has held several titles at the theater, most recently serving as Executive Assistant. Additionally, he has directed several plays over the past few years and has relaunched a new Children’s Theater at Barn Lot. He has also been involved with Flashback Theater in Somerset and the Lindsey Wilson College Theater Program in Columbia.
