Community arts organization FFOYA House and neighbor Astro Turf will host a mini festival on Saturday celebrating psychedelic music and art.

The event will feature 10 psych-influenced local and regional bands -- including Buffalo Rodeo, Former Friends of Young Americans and Astronomy Club -- and a dozen visual artists. Artists will also be doing psychedelic face-painting and tie-dye on site.

"Psychedelic culture has been very influential beyond the 60s and 70s into the 80s, 90s and until today," said FFOYA House co-founder Toby Fatzinger. "Psychedelic art is art for art's sake. The music, like the visual art, can meander and is not bound by traditional structure. You can color outside the lines."

The gallery at FFOYA House, 1035 Kentucky St. near the intersection of 11th Avenue, will open at 2 p.m. with the first band, Positrack, kicking off the music next door at 3 p.m. Bands will alternate between the two houses until 10 p.m. Other bands on the bill include locals York, Ghost Effects and Feltod Mavous and the Joyful Sound along with I'm An Island and The Medium from Nashville.

All ages are welcome. Recommended donation of $5.
